5:30 am pick up at your hotel in Antigua Guatemala or Guatemala City (1500mt) and travel to the western highlands of Guatemala, the car ride is 1.30hr to our birding Place.
Is necessary to acclimatize due the altitude, the walking is moderated, the place is a great spot for most migratory birds such as warblers of North America and regional-endemic ones.
Our main target birds are:
After birding we continue to Lake Atitlan where we will stop en route in search of the endangered Belted Flycatcher, at the dry forest.
Drop you off at your hotel.
Atitlan birding slope & cloud forest (1800mt)
Departing from the hotel at 5:30 am towards our birding spot, it is located outside of Lake Atitlan Carldera, it is just 30 minutes by land. Upon arrival we start our birding adventure. It is a broad-leaf forest or commonly known as Cloud forest.
